The Motivating Spirit Of the ICC World Twenty 20
ICC World Twenty 20 is the stepping stone in the cricket world, last time it was held in South Africa in September 2007 this was the inaugural of the Twenty 20 World Cricket Championship and it was a thirteen day tournament and about twelve of the best World teams played in it. India was the winner of the Inaugural ICC World Twenty 20 final matches.
The ICC world Twenty 20 championship had set its own rules that were strictly followed:
In case of a tie in other words if both the teams scored the same score a bowl out helped to decide the winner and this rule was applicable through out the tournament.
There was a set criteria for the teams to be ranked accordingly that is the higher score were ranked higher. And if the scorer was equal the highest number was said to win. And if this was not satisfactory enough the higher run rate and the lower bowling strike rate were consider determining the rankings of the players.
There was also a set group stage and the twelve cricket teams were dividing in to four groups each of three teams. The grouping of the team was based on the ranking of the previous matches and the top two teams s were allowed to go into the second stage of the tournament.
The ICC World Twenty 20 tournaments have set new rules for the cricket matches and they simply ignore the fact that they are right or not. The rules are in favor of the Batsmen as Batsmen are scoring runs and making their teams proud with their efficient batting attracting more attention then the bowlers. Though the batsman is at an advantage scoring fours and sixes but the real fact is that bowlers should also be given equal opportunities s to show their potential.
The international Cricket board is looking for opportunities to renew innovative rules regulations so that the flaws in the game can be rectified.
The true team spirit is the determining force behind the success of any game in the cricket matches as nothing works alone. The positive outlook and motivation strives people to achieve their set goal as this is the road that leads to successful cricket.
The comfort zone of the players makes it easy for the players to concentrate totally on the game making them not only succeed but also to demonstrate open sportsmanship and a positive air that helps to make things work out in the perfect way. Setting rules and regulations for the batsman and bowlers so that they get equal opportunities will only help cricketers to succeed and this is point that the ICC people should concentrate on.
